Hi Friends,
Let’s be honest. We all struggle with a set of beliefs that have become limiting beliefs in our life. These beliefs have a profound effect on the way we view God, the way we view ourselves, and the way we live out our faith in everyday life. I have received a lot of feedback on the lessons I recently shared on the topic of insecurity. So based on the needs, questions, and problems many of you shared with me, I would like to take the discussion on insecurity a little further over the next few weeks.
As a reminder, here are three things that I recently shared about insecurity:
- Insecurity is the belief that your abilities, talents, and strengths are deficient in some way.
- Insecurity is a powerful enemy that wants to hold you hostage.
- Insecurity is a trap that will hold you back from being the person God created you to be.
Here is WHY overcoming insecurity is so very important:
Ultimately, insecurity will hold you back from being WHO God created you to be and from doing WHAT God created you to do in this world.
We have some core beliefs that drive us here at PPI. Beliefs that I know with all my heart are of the highest value to every one of us. Here are three big ones that are critically important:
- We believe that all people are created in the image of God, and therefore have God-given dignity, value, and purpose.
- We believe the purpose of life is to serve God and to serve people according the His purpose for our lives.
- We believe that you were created for an important purpose.
The Apostle Paul said it like this…
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).
Here’s an important question: Do you really believe that this is true? Do you really believe that the God of the universe created you, knows you, values you, and has already prepared you to do things in this world that He considers to be good?
There is a reason to overcome insecurity!
In the coming weeks, I want to wrestle with this topic with you. Why? Because ultimately, insecurity will hold you back from being WHO God created you to be and from doing WHAT God created you to do in this world.
In our next discussion, I’m going to begin contrasting the traits of two of the Bible’s most well-known and complex people. Here’s a hint: one is incredibly secure… and one is not!
